Molybdenum Disulfide is a shiny silver-grey, fine powder commonly described as slippery. It is insoluble in water. It is a high purity compound.

The most common form of Molybdenum on Earth is Molybdenum Disulfide, also known as Molybdenite. Molybdenum Disulfide is used as a solid lubricant where conventional lubricants would normally decompose or burn off. It is ideal for high temperature environments.
