Basic Zinc Molybdate 101 - or BZM 101 - is a formulation of Zinc Molybdate and Zinc Oxide. It is a bright-white, fine powder.
Its main use is in pigmentation where Zinc Molybdate contributes anti-corrosion properties to the pigment.
Zinc Molybdate is made via calcining excess Zinc Oxide with Molybdenum Trioxide in a solid-solid reaction at high temperatures, rather than via the conventional Zinc Molybdate precipitation method.
The final product formulation, by weight, is:
- Zinc Molybdate - 10%
- Zinc Oxide - 90%
